Hey, I'm Bruno.

Welcome to my website. Here you can find my work, my projects, and more generally just things I'm passionate about.

I am a data scientist and biologist by trade, who loves working with multi-omics to build models that ultimately help patients.

I'm foremost a builder and a problem-solver. I love to build tools that can help people, and if I can do it as part of a team, even better; I also can't resist a puzzle, whatever shape it takes. I'm motivated by challenging projects, especially if they can have a positive impact on people's lives. I am otherwise an unremarkable nerd who loves reading, cooking, videogames, and TTRPGs.

What I did before

I have worked my whole career at the intersection between biology, bioinformatics, and data science. I've looked at the interactomes of translation factors across time to better understand their functions. I've looked at which epigenetic marks could make us more sensitive to cocaine addiction. I've screened cancer data for targets in the dark genome. I think there is a pattern here: I've always been trying to convert large amounts of biological data to actionable insights, and I've collected some of that data myself. In larger teams, this has also made me a uniquely suited interlocutor for specialists in either of the three domains as I speak their language, mostly. As such, I've also become an effective team leader, although you should really ask that question to my team members.

What I do now

Most recently, I've been leading a team in investigating the mechanisms behind tumor-drive immunogenicity. The models we built are currently helping companies to devise personalized and off-the shelf immunotherapies against cancer, wherein the patient's own immune system ultimately drives the cancer out of their system. I barely built this website and instead exploited the Astro Sphere template. Thanks, Mr Horn.
